19/11/2010 - Top seed at the Serbian Open Elizabeta SAMARA of Romania successfully concluded qualification stages. She beat Una RADAK and Doroca HAJNAL of Serbia. "On each tournament I give my best. For me it is very important to stay in good shape. I have important match with Fenerbahce against Portugal's ADC Ponta do Pargo in ETTU Cup next week, and I have League match. I have to play on top level constantly," said SAMARA.
SAMARA came to Subotica to play at the Serbian Open and European mixed Doubles Championships from the Polish open. "I have reached quarter finals but I suffered defeat by the hands of LI Jiao of Netherlands. It was straight games match, but far from easy one for my adversaries. I had a lead 5:1, 6:1 in each game. Anyway, I am in good shape and I hope for good result in Subotica."
Last year SAMARA and Andrei FILIMON won bronze medal. "The ambitions for this edition are the same. We are aiming the medal rostrum and we hope we can go even step higher. FILIMON made a break, since he was injured, but now he is back. Maybe he is not in 100 percent shape, but he is fresh and not tired and we play very good."
In between matches and tournaments SAMARA practice in Olympic center in Romania. "We have very good group of players. Cristina HIRICI is there, FILIMON joined us, Lucian MUNTEANU.... I am very happy with the conditions there." The top priority for the next year is to qualify for the Olympic Games in London 2012.
"I went through qualification stages and played in Nant for my place in Beijing. I hope I will manage to skip that step this time. It is so hard to go that way. I will do my best to gain direct passage via rankings. To do so I will need to be very careful and to chose tournaments next year. I can not afford to lose any valuable points or to suffered defeats in the early stages of the tournaments," explained Elizabeta SAMARA.
